Looking to clear up issues on the defensive end, the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) announced on Wednesday that the team has signed veteran cornerback Darrelle Revis. Revis is also one of the best trash-talkers in the NFL.

UPDATE: can make above the minimumRevis this year due to incentives; in 2018 he is owed $10 million, but the team can cut him before next season so that the money doesn't become guaranteed. Their fresh face is an old one now reunited with defensive coordinator Bob Sutton from their time with the Jets.

"He is really awesome - I love the way he plays", Revis said, via the Kansas City Star.

The fact that coach Andy Reid, according to ESPN, thinks Revis will wind up starting, feels even more desperate.

"Darrelle is a proven player in this league and we are excited to add him to our secondary", Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said.

Almost nine months after the Jets cut him, Revis finally found a landing spot on Wednesday when he signed with the Chiefs. Since then their pass defense, which ranked 18th was average as a unit in 2016, has fallen to 28th this season.

Revis has played for the Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New England Patriots. His career numbers include 485 tackles (401 solo), 2.0 sacks, 137 passes defensed, 29 interceptions, six forced fumbles and 12 fumble recoveries.

Darrelle Revis is making his National Football League return with a winning club.
