  • Juli Briskman the cyclist who raised her middle finger as a motorcade with US President Donald Trump passed- and was fired for it- has been showered with donations on GoFundMe

A woman who says she was sacked from her job after being photographed giving the finger to President Donald Trump's motorcade is receiving an unexpected severance pay, thanks to thousands of online supporters.

Juli Briskman became an internet sensation when a photo of her where she was pictured showing the middle finger to the passing convoy of Donald Trump while she was on a cycle.

Her employer, government contractor Akima LLC, wasn't too thrilled about the photo making waves so they fired her over it, citing their social media policy as she used it as her profile picture on both Facebook and Twitter.

All the money raised goes directly to Briskman, he says on the site.

"Juli Briskman is an inspiration to us all".

She added: "Only one third of Puerto Rico has power". Quickly, she was hailed as a viral hero. Shortly after the virality peaked, Briskman lost her job. Well the public didn't seem to think that was fair and a Go Fund Me account was launched for the mother of two. There were several people who criticised her for flipping off the President but a majority of the reactions applauded her for her act.

"They said, 'We're separating from you, '" Briskman told HuffPost.

"Basically, you can not have "lewd" or "obscene" things on your social media".

As of writing this report, Mello's donation page had made $96,675 while Gregar's page had made $2,358.

"Through your generous donations, heavy burdens have been lifted".

"I am not sure what the future holds, but I am buoyed by your support", Briskman wrote.

I have connected with Juli and she has been officially setup as the beneficiary on this GoFundMe campaign.
