Mayfield has finished in the top-four of the Heisman voting the last two seasons.

The Georgia Bulldogs will certainly have their hands full with Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield in the Rose Bowl.

A year ago, Mayfield made the trip to NY, his first ever to the Big Apple, with teammate Dede Westbrook as the pair were finalists together.

Charles Woodson and Desmond Howard, both winners of the Heisman Trophy when they played for the Michigan Wolverines, made the announcement during ESPN's Monday Night Football pre-game show.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, Stanford running back Bryce Love and Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson were named Heisman Trophy finalists.

Love was second in the nation in rushing (1,973 yards) while scoring 17 touchdowns, doing most of it with a severely injured ankle. Love rushed for 100 yards in 11 of the 12 games he played, including performances of 263 yards against UCLA and 301 yards against Arizona State in back-to-back weeks. Despite missing one game due to injury, he was second in the nation in rushing and led the nation with 10 runs of 50 yards or more.

Jackson also leads the NCAA in total offense per game (411.0 total yards per game), total yards (4,932) and is tied for third in total touchdowns (42). He has a chance to become the sixth Sooner Heisman victor and the first Heisman victor to begin his career as a "walk-on" athlete. He finished fourth in the 2015 Heisman balloting. The victor of the award, which goes to college football's most outstanding player, will be revealed Saturday at the Downtown Athletic Club in NY.

The victor of the 2017 Heisman Trophy will be announced Sunday night on ESPN. "We look forward to recognizing their remarkable individual accomplishments and celebrating the victor of the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night".
