A couple of hours ago, we informed you about the new Portal game, Bridge Constructor Portal. This is the first time someone else has gotten to make a full-scale standalone game for multiple platforms set in the Portal universe.

It may not be the Portal sequel that fans have been hoping for since Portal 2's 2011 release, but it's certainly an unexpected mash-up. No, the company that used to be famous for making games instead of selling them didn't announced Portal 3, but it did announce Bridge Constructor Portal.

Backing up a bit, if you've never played a Portal game before, I implore you to fix that problem.

Portal has gone all over the place, from the darkest depths of Aperture Science to outer space, briefly.

Bridge Constructor is a series that tasks players with-you guessed it-constructing bridges in order to move the flow of traffic from one end of the level to the other.

Versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will follow next year, according to the announcement from Headup Games.

Bridge Constructor Portal will be released on December 20 for PC, MacOS and Linux as well as smartphones. Judging by how things have been going with release dates lately on the App Store, I wouldn't be too surprised to see it pop up sometime on December 19th, but, we'll see.
