The Steelers announced they released Harrison Saturday to make room on the roster for offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert. On his Instagram account, Harrison confirmed the signing by posting a photo with #Tom Brady with the caption: "Finally".

"James knows I am going to put the interest of this group above anything else in terms of how we prepare, who we utilize and how we utilize them", head coach Mike Tomlin said in October, per 247Sports' Bryan DeArdo.

He collected at least five sacks every season between 2014 and 2016 and signed a two-year deal last spring that would have kept him in Pittsburgh through his 40th birthday. He has been active in just five of Pittsburgh's 14 games despite being injury-free. Many felt that Belchick signing former Jets linebacker Davis Harris fell in line with that, even as Harris has collected dust much of the season on the bench.

In the most "Patriots" move ever; it is both surprising and completely predictable that Bill Belichick and co. have moved for the Steelers legend. New England owns the tiebreaker by virtue of its 27-24 win at Pittsburgh on December 17.

Now all that's left is for the Steelers legend to face off against his former team in the AFC Championship game.

Pittsburgh and New England are playing for home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs in Week 17. He'll now have a chance to chase his third Super Bowl ring with a new team.
