The Amber Alert issued for Raul Gonzalez Johnson on Wednesday said the boy was last seen on Village Drive on Wednesday afternoon, walking toward Crestline Road in Laurinburg.

On Saturday, crews drained a pond nearby to ensure every possibility has been covered. Divers had searched it without any luck.

An FBI spokeswoman said in an email Saturday that a medical examiner must still confirm the identity and cause of death, but that authorities believe the body is that of 4-year-old Raul Gonzalez Johnson.

Scotland County Sheriff Ralph Kersey said earlier this week Raul has wandered off before, even going missing for about 25 minutes Tuesday.

Investigators in Scotland County enter day four of the search for a missing 4-year-old boy.

Search teams scoured the area around his home Friday and the North Carolina state highway patrol set up roadblocks to canvass drivers. They say went Raul went to the home of a neighbor, who told him to go home.

Friday, FBI and the Sheriff explained they have not drained the pond because they need permission from the landowner. "If I holler for him he comes back and this time he didn't come back".

Charlotte firefighters were also called in to help with the search.

He is said to have been wearing a white and orange striped shirt with tigers on it, along with white trousers printed with rocket ships.

The home is about 2,000 feet from the SC line.

"There was an individual last night that for whatever reason, posted a picture on Snapchat that he had been located and was safe", Sadovnikov said.

Kersey said that no evidence has been found that could lead them "any closer" to finding the missing boy but they are not about to give up.

More than 40 law enforcement, search-and-rescue, and volunteer agencies are involved in the search for the little boy. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Johnson is asked to call 911 or 910-276-3385.
