"It's an emotional and bittersweet day for our "Monday Night Football" family, as today we say goodbye to coach Gruden after nine very distinguished years coaching this "Monday Night Football" group", ESPN analyst Sean McDonough said at the beginning of Saturday's game. The longtime head coach will reportedly sign a 10-year, $100 million contract.

Jon Gruden has returned to don the Silver and Black, and will officially be Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders once again. After leading the Raiders to 8-8 records his first two years, Gruden helped the team reach the AFC title game following the 2000 season and got Oakland back into the playoffs the following season.

After attending the University of Dayton, Gruden got his first start in coaching in 1986 as a graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Gruden will be formally introduced at a news conference Tuesday. Good luck with the Oakland Raiders.

Gruden was last on the Raiders sideline during a New England game on January 19, 2002.

When McDonough acknowledged the news before the game, Gruden awkwardly replied by saying nothing is official, but afterwards, he accepted the farewell and said, "It's been a great run".

Gruden began his head-coaching career in Oakland 20 years ago Monday, leading the Raiders for four seasons before spending seven as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach.

The Raiders were in need of a coach after they made a decision to part ways with Jack Del Rio. He last coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008.

The Raiders fired Del Rio last week after the conclusion of a 6-10 season. Could he be the man to replace Gruden on ESPN?
