Sean Spicer on Steve Wynn Scandal: Republicans Should Return Money He Donated

Wynn resigned as the Republican National Committee's finance chairman Saturday after allegations of sexual misconduct were published Friday in The Wall Street Journal. The report went on to say that after she finished giving him a manicure, Wynn pressured her to take her clothes off and lie on a massage table he kept in his office suite.

The 76-year-old founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Wynn Resorts Ltd, has been a prominent figure in the casino resort business and onetime rival of Trump. One case led to a $7.5 million settlement with a manicurist, the newspaper reported.

"The idea that I ever assaulted any woman is preposterous", Wynn said in a statement that Wynn Resorts sent to media outlets Friday.

Wynn attended a Senate Republican caucus lunch at the Capitol when GOP lawmakers previous year tried to craft a bill to repeal Obamacare that could muster the necessary GOP votes to pass. Mrs. Wynn was ousted from the Wynn Resorts Board following her divorce from Mr. Wynn in 2010. "I don't think we should have a double standard for ourselves".

Trump called Wynn a "great friend" after he won the Nevada caucus in February 2016, and Wynn was named finance chairman of the committee after Trump became president.

Steve Wynn has also denied the allegations and claimed that the allegations are all part of a ploy by his former wife. DeLeo said lawmakers did not discuss what happens if someone is deemed unsuitable after a license is granted.

The RNC has not yet said whether it will return any money donated by Wynn. "The stock and earnings could continue to rise thanks to an upcycle, and consensus remains bullish - but we expect peers to perform better from here for several reasons, including rich valuation".

The RNC, which was quick to attack the Democrat party for having accepted donations from film mogul Harvey Weinstein, who has been the subject of numerous accusations of predatory sexual behaviour, made no comment on the WSJ's allegations.

Republican Sens. Susan Collins of ME and Lindsey Graham of SC have urged Republicans who have received money from Wynn to return them.

"There's an issue of whether or not there's going to be cancellations", Curtis said.

In early October, McDaniel tweeted that if the Democratic National Committee "truly stands up for women like they say they do, then returning Weinstein's dirty money should be a no-brainer".

A Republican senator urged party candidates to return monetary contributions from embattled casino mogul Steve Wynn on Sunday, while a second GOP senator encouraged Republican officials to be open to refunding the cash.

It was unclear Saturday who will replace Wynn as the RNC's finance chairman but filling the position and the controversy surrounding Wynn are both likely to be topics of discussion at the meeting.
