George Groves skipped the post-fight press conference on Saturday night as the super-middleweight was taken straight to the hospital after his victory over Chris Eubank Jr.
"The Saint" dominated the first half in front of a packed Manchester Arena and held on through an expected late onslaught to take the unanimous decision, with the judges scoring 117-112, 116-112, 115-113 in his favour.
Eubank went the distance against Kamil Kulczyk of Poland and knocked him down in the penultimate round before earning a 40-35 points win.
Groves will be defending his WBO title, with Eubank Jr offering up the rather less respected IBO title.

Groves was also bigger physically, as Eubank only moved up from middleweight a year ago.
The fight will be shown live on ITV Box Office for the price of £16.95.
Eubank was cut above the right eye in the third round from an apparent accidental clash of heads, and it bothered him for the rest of the fight. "I'm going to help him on that path".
Prince Naseem Hamed went after Chris Eubank, Jr. with no regard for human life. "I dropped him at least once but it didn't count, which was dubious", said Groves after the fight.
The intensity increased in the ninth, Groves often against the ropes but Eubank Jr's shots becoming wilder, and everyone, including him, knew he was going to need something special to live up to his own predictions. A curt, clinical counter hook seemed to put Eubank Jr down, only for referee Michael Alexander ruling out a knockdown.
"I don't think of retirement, retirement is not a word that even comes into my mind". I didn't get hit clean. But Groves said: "There's no rhyme or reason - it must be people putting money on Eubank but, sadly, they're going to lose it". George ain't ready, I can see it in his eyes.
The comedienne also directed well-wishers to donate to Everytown for Gun Safety , an organization that works to end gun violence. The actor looked resplendent in white as she posed for the shutterbugs. "I couldn't be happier for them".
