  • House Intel Republicans plan to wall off aides from Democratic staffers - literally

According to the Post, GOP leaders in the House are "dispensing with the memo format" as a means to sway the national discourse, with some party leaders expressing regret over the whirlwind scandal that unfolded in recent weeks.

Republicans in the House of Representatives say they will not use memos as they continue to probe accusations of Federal Bureau of Investigation surveillance abuse, The Washington Post reported Friday.

"I do think it's important to release the Democrat memo", observes attorney Abe Hamilton, a former assistant district attorney who now serves as counsel at the American Family Association.

Many Republicans speculate that Nunes using a politically one-sided memo to deliver classified details could end the possibility of bipartisanship on a committee that has been at odds since its investigation began into Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.

As stakes mount, some congressional Republicans privately acknowledge that they fear the Democrats' 10-page rebuttal contains so much sensitive material that President Trump will be accused of censoring the documents when he makes omissions, which he is expected to do. The president has until Saturday to decide his course of action on that counter memo. Sources tell CBS News that Republicans in the House Intelligence Committee are planning to erect a "physical partition" in the spring to keep Democratic and Republican staffers separated.

"Instead, we do a memo".

The second salvo, sources close to the California Republican tell The Washington Times, will rely on an argument promoted by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican, and Sen.

"I'm not part of that decision", said Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas. "I'm all for transparency, but this whole exercise is transparently partisan", Rep. Charlie Dent.

Republicans are finally going to build the wall.

Ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who's had is fair share of public disagreement with Nunes, called the proposal "destructive".
