  • Olympic team's chefs mistakenly order 15000 eggs

Norway has a total of 109 athletes competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Korea.

Find 1,500 eggs to feed hungry Norwegian athletes at the Winter Olympics in South Korea.

But a mistake occurred when 15,000 eggs were delivered to their kitchens, instead of the 1500 intended.

Fortunately for Team Norway, they were able to return the unwanted 13,500 egg, but Johansen said the remaining eggs would be put to good use.

However, the team had used Google Translate to place the order with the South Korean supplier, who was apparently led to believe the team needed ten times more eggs that they actually wanted.

"They said themselves that it was a Google translate slip", Lea said.

The chefs blamed a translation error, but it looks as if a typo might also be at fault. Absolutely unbelievable, ' said Chef Ståle Johansen to NTB.

If you were to wake up next to a Norwegian athlete in the morning and ask them how they like their eggs, they might tell you "by the thousands".

Following the delivery, the kitchen team returned the 13,500 eggs, but not before the chefs were able to post a photo of the amusing mix-up. The way that numbers are written means that "changing one syllable would mean the difference between 1,500 and 15,000". "And we hope there will be a lot of sugar bread made for medal winners".
