  • President Nazarbayev condoles with Vladimir Putin over passenger plane crash

The agency said: "The An-148 passenger plane of the Saratov Airlines [flight 730 from Moscow to Orsk] took off from the Domodedovo airport at 14.21pm Moscow time".

The An-148 regional jet disappeared from radar screens shortly after takeoff from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport.

A Russian passenger plane carrying 71 people on Sunday crashed outside Moscow. Some reports said all 71 people on board are believed to be dead, while some outlets are conservatively saying that at least two bodies have been found in the wreckage.

The crash might have been caused by weather conditions, human error or technical failure, according to TASS citing an emergency source.

Russia's investigative committee said all possible causes are being considered. The cockpit voice recorder and parts of the fuselage also have been retrieved from the crash site, Russia's Emergencies Ministry reported. It was enroute to the city of Orsk near the border with Kazakhstan.

The Russian-made aircraft was seven years old and had been purchased by Saratov Airlines from another Russian airline a year ago, according to Agence France-Presse.

Interfax news agency said one Swiss national had been among the passengers.

Emergency Services told Interfax news agency that there was little chance of anyone having survived after the aircraft crashed near the town of Argunovo in Moscow province, Efe news agency reported.

Images from Orsk airport show distressed relatives after learning the plane had crashed.

The plane was ordered by Rossiya Airlines, a subsidiary of Aeroflot, but was put into storage during 2015-2017 because of a lack of parts.

Russia's most recent high-profile plane accident came in December 2016 when a military transport plane carrying dozens of members of the Red Army choir to Syria crashed into the Black Sea.
