  • YouTube suspends ads on all of Logan Paul's channels

After barring Logan Paul earlier today from serving ads on his video channel, YouTube has now announced a more formal and wider set of sanctions it's prepared to level on any creator that starts to post videos that are harmful to viewers, others in the YouTube community, or advertisers.

The announcement comes right after the platform barred YouTube sensation Logan Paul from serving ads on his video channel. YouTube says that they suspended the advertising because Logan Paul's behavior could be "damaging to the broader creator community".

After Paul's jaunt in Japan last month, YouTube removed him from Google Preferred, a premium ad group for content creators, and cancelled his YouTube Red video series. It's estimated that Paul made between $40,000 and $630,000 from his YouTube videos per month, another estimate stated that the 22-year-old was earning approximately $270,000 a month from his videos, or approximately $3.25 million a year. Understandably, the video caused an outcry, and Paul took several weeks off after giving an abrupt apology. He has also used inappropriate tags for videos and most egregiously, encouraged people to participate in the Tide Pod Challenge in which people eat Tide Pod detergent packs.

He had also deliberately tried to monetise the video that violated YouTube's advertiser-friendly guidelines, they said.

Before returning to daily vlogs, Paul posted a video, a serious one, called "Suicide: Be Here Tomorrow".

As such, it's not entirely surprising that YouTube has chose to temporarily cut off Paul's ad revenue. This new move goes one step further and hits Paul where it hurts creators the most.ad revenue.

However, it's now unknown how much this move will affect the YouTuber.

It's clear that Paul is far from a good role model, and many viewers think so, so it's unclear why YouTube chose to keep him on after demonetizing his videos. "No matter how much hate or comments from random strangers I've never even seen or heard of in my life - "Logan, you're trash, you're garbage, rot in hell, die, hang yourself" - it's noise to me".
