It's official: Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference will kick off in San Jose, California on June 4, the company announced today.

Apple typically uses the opening keynote of WWDC to announce software updates to the company's various platforms such as iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

This is breaking and will be updated. Meanwhile, students and STEM organization members can apply for a scholarship starting on March 26 and, if chosen, receive a ticket to the event along with one year of free membership in the Apple developer program.

Meanwhile, budding developers may be able to snag one for free.

Both developers and students have the opportunity to attend the conference.

If you don't secure a ticket or scholarship, you don't have to miss out completely. Tickets cost $1599 each and include daily lunch, beverages, and snacks. Students must include a unique Swift playground to apply for a scholarship.

Engage in motivating conversations around key topics with fellow developers and Apple experts. After that, there'll be a random selection as to who gets the chance to actually buy a ticket. Submissions will be accepted from March 26 through April 1, and applicants will learn their status by April 20.
