Apple is releasing iOS 11.3 to all supported iOS devices.
Apple's augmented reality platform, ARKit, has also been updated to support horizontal surfaces. Apple touts that this makes for a "new music video experience for Apple Music". Battery Health can also tell you if your phone's performance is being throttled due to its battery's age, and if it is, let you disable that feature at the risk of encountering unexpected shutdowns.
Owners of compatible iOS devices can follow instructions here to update to iOS 11.3.
As told in an earlier article in detail, iOS 11.3 delivers a new and important feature to keep a close eye on your iPhone's battery and performance. After installing the update, head over to Settings Battery Battery Health to see if the slowdown feature is enabled on your iPhone 6, 6 Plus, SE, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, or 7 Plus.
Amidst the brouhaha over Facebook's data mishandling, Apple is setting out to make its own data practices a bit more transparent in iOS 11.3.
The hub, a new Music Videos section in the browse tab, was first previewed as an iOS 11.3 feature back in January.
Using advanced computer vision techniques to find and recognise the position of 2D images such as signs, posters and artwork, ARKit can integrate these real world images into AR experiences such as filling a museum with interactive exhibits or bringing a movie poster to life.
For the enterprise, one of the key features is Business Chat, which allows businesses to directly communicate with users in the Messages app, an Apple press release said. Here you'll see a sampling of featured and new videos, along with curated video playlists put together by Apple's team. This update is reaching Apple's computers as well, as part of the macOS 10.13.4 release.
Apple TV app, a unified place for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV users to discover and start watching the best shows and movies, will launch in Brazil and Mexico. Before the update, the medical records section of the app was only available to the people who had signed up to test a pre-release version.
