On the other hand, Indian diplomats in Islamabad have complained of shortage in supply of water and gas in their residential complexes there and doorbells being run in the wee hours of the morning.

Pakistan's decision to skip the WTO meeting comes against the backdrop of an ongoing diplomatic stand-off between the two countries.

Pakistan has decided not to attend a World Trade Organisation (WTO) meeting hosted by India next week, highlighting growing tensions caused by the ongoing diplomatic standoff. The first note verbale was issued on May 18 2007 and the latest one was delivered only earlier this week.

Protesting continues "intimidation and harassment" of its diplomates, India lodged another compalint after officials of Indian Mission in Pakistan were aggressively follwed by unidentified men in Islamabad on Sunday.

"Another Note Verbale was sent today by our High Commission in Islamabad to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan protesting against the intimidation and harassment of Indian High Commission officials", a source said.

The tit for tat action had already started in May of a year ago when Pakistan started intermittently "blocking Indian government websites in Pakistan" including the one used to receive and process visas over the internet. It is likely to create obstruction in the normal functioning of the Indian assignments.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has reportedly made a decision to pull out of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial meet, which is scheduled to take place on March 19-20, in New Delhi, India. There are possible chances that the ongoing diplomatic confrontation could aggravate further.

India has invited trade ministers of over 50 nations, including the USA and China, to discuss key issues related areas such as agriculture and services.

As of now, India and Pakistan are ensuring that there is no further wear and tear in the bilateral ties in the next few weeks.

Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammed Faisal said that Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner's vehicle carrying his children was stopped for 40 minutes.

"We have asked the Pakistan Government to investigate these incidents", government sources said after New Delhi on Saturday issued a note verbale to Pakistan about the harassment of Indian officials.
