New PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds patch brings emotes and friends systems

A new blog post by PlayerUnknown today outlines numerous upcoming changes to the game, the most interesting of which is a sneak peek at a chaotic-looking new map.
Also on the way to PUBG is an emote system, which players will be able to try out on the game's Test Server "soon".
There's also another eight km by eight km map in the works, too. The four-by-four map is half the size of Erangel and Miramar, so the much smaller design should give a "much more intense and faster paced Battle Royale experience", according to PUBG Corp.
PUBG are not ready to discuss new game modes yet which is a shame but they do mention that new vehicles are coming along with new weapons.
A few months after it left beta, PUBG announces its 2018 update roadmap meant to improve the quality of gameplay for the battle royale shooter.
New animations are going to be introduced to both third-person and first-person game modes, including but not limited to entering vehicles and clambering over walls.
Finally, game stability is being targeted as well as anti-cheat methods and server security. Achievements, an in-game friends list, and in-game squad voice chat are also on the roadmap.
Changes are also being made to vehicle sounds, as well as the sounds that players make when on the move to better reflect what they are carrying.
An emote system is planned, accessible via a radial wheel, to allow players to point, wave, nod, clap, and taunt. "Thanks to the fantastic feedback coming from the player community and professional scene we believe we're moving in the right direction. We truly want to build a great foundation for Battle Royale esports, and while we have seen some great events already using our game, we have much work to do, especially with the observing side of things". Therefore, the game studio plans to rework the shooter's replay system and possibly add a live spectator tool, which is intended for the commentators during a match. We can also look forward to a PUBG Developer API, which "will support developers in the community by providing player and match data around gameplay performance". And customization options will continue to be added throughout the year, including skins for parachutes and weapons. It's a good day for PUBG players.
