Echoing a sentiment Nunberg expressed - that he was frustrated by what he viewed as Mueller's overly cumbersome request, which he said was causing him to fall behind on his other work - Wiley said Nunberg "was in a hard position and had not thought it through".

He told the Post that despite his suspicions, "the Russians and Trump did not collude".

Nunberg, who placed his personal Trump-related legal fees somewhere in the "five figures", said he was no longer interested in defending the president - and repeated suggestions he made on TV Monday night that Trump and other aides may be in legal jeopardy from Mueller's investigation.

The 36-year-old lawyer was booted off the Trump campaign after it was revealed that he had made racially charged social media posts about the Rev. Al Sharpton and former President Barack Obama. One seeks to determine whether the Trump campaign received "anything of value" from any foreign national or foreign government, and whether Mr. Trump personally approved of it - a felony.

"But I don't know that, for sure", he said.

Mueller has indicted 13 Russians and four former Trump aides, three of whom have entered plea deals involving co-operation.

"Granted, Donald Trump caused this because he's an idiot", Nunberg told CNN anchor Jake Tapper.

"I'm not spending 80 hours going over my emails with Roger Stone and Steve Bannon and producing them", Nunberg told the Post. The Washington Post reported he was rehired by Trump as a communications adviser in February 2015, and CNN reported he was sacked from the Trump campaign on August 2, 2015, after racist posts allegedly from his Facebook account surfaced.

Paul Manafort, a former Trump campaign manager and Gates' business partner, who pleaded not guilty to money laundering, conspiracy and making false statements last week.

In January 2016, Erik Prince, the founder of the private security company Blackwater, met with a Russian official close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and later described the meeting to congressional investigators as a chance encounter that was not a planned discussion of U.S. -Russia relations. I believe Carter Page was colluding with the Russians.

Another inquiry seeks to determine whether the president himself attempted to obstruct the work of the Mueller grand juries by firing FBI Director James Comey for a corrupt reason, one that is self-serving and lacking a bona fide governmental objective - also a felony.

Colbert went on to quip about the extent of Nunberg's tirade.

But he soon changed his plans.Later Monday afternoon, Nunberg called into MSNBC for a lengthy, live interview with Tur. "You know who laughs in jail?" he asked. "I'm trying to just get this over with".

"Mr. Stone appears to be a person at the center of the global intrigue, as you mentioned, the contact with Wikileaks allegedly, which is believed to be by Bob Mueller of investigative interest of a Russian plot that's already been charged in US federal court", Melber said. I'm not going to spend 40 hours going over emails. "It sounds like a pain, but he is the special counsel".
