The Chromebook Tab 10 is expected to become available in April to North America first, for education and commercial customers. The new Acer tablet is the first tablet to run Google's Chrome OS.

In the camera department, the tablet comes equipped with a 5MP resolution camera on the back and a 2MP camera on the front. So far, Chrome OS has pretty much been limited to laptop-style devices, though Google has previously told users to expect tablets running Chrome OS at some point. "The new Acer Chromebook Tab 10 encourages students to discover new ways of understanding the world around them".

The first of the Chromebook tablets is the Acer Chromebook Tab 10. If anything, don't be surprised if we get a wave of them throughout the next year as manufacturers test those tablet waters again after the big Android tablet bust, but also because Google likely has even more planned to make Chrome OS a great tablet experience.

The Wacom EMR stylus that comes along with the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 can be used for interacting with apps, sketching, and taking notes.

Google writes that Chromebook Tab 10 is the outcome of the feedback from educators around the world who wanted all the features to be compressed in a tablet. Students can login to any device for a personalized learning and log-out hassle-free when the class is over.

The Chromebook Tab 10 sports one single USB port on the side of the device and this is a USB 3.1 Type-C port, which is capable of data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps.

The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 responds quickly and can run multiple apps at once, as it's powered by an OP1 Processor that integrates dual-core Cortex-A72 and quad-core Cortex-A53 processors. The passive stylus does not require battery or any additional charging.

It comes with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (that can be expanded with a microSD slot) and a headphone jack. This is a new technology that maps the classroom and places 3D objects in it for students to study, "making subjects such as biology, geography and astronomy easier to comprehend". You can use the Chrome OS browser and extensions to access content on the web, which is faster and more powerful than the browser on Android tablets.
