  • Will Daniel Bryan's Return Impact WrestleMania 34?

Now, after more than two years of being told that he would never wrestle in a WWE ring again and having to sit idly by watching others compete, the surprise announcement was made earlier today that WWE doctors have cleared Daniel Bryan to return to in-ring competition! As of Tuesday morning, we have five combined of "Monday Night Raw" and "Smackdown Live" left before "Wrestlemania XXXIV".

Since then Bryan has tried to get himself cleared, visiting numerous doctors whilst performing a non wrestling role for WWE.

The moment was years in the making. "Movement". He reached the pinnacle of his career at Wrestlemania 30 when he defeated Randy Orton and Dave Batista to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Bryan was merely an undeniable force.

In a video segment for WWE to promote next month's WrestleMania pay-per-view, Rousey spoke candidly about her meteoric rise in MMA and her eventual downfall, which concluded with a punishing TKO loss to Nunes in just 48 seconds at UFC 207 on December 30, 2016.

Bryan has been out of action for more than two years, dealing with the lingering effects of multiple concussions.

But his moment at the top would be shortlived. He underwent a neck surgery later, which forced him out of the ring for some time.

He and Bryan tangled several times during their time on the circuit and they've clashed before in WWE, but this current incarnation of Cesaro is far more assured both in his character and his place with the fans.

Finally, WWE's medical director, Dr. Joseph Maroon, cleared Bryan as well.

Hours after it was announced that he was cleared, the wrestler appeared on "SmackDown Live" and gave an emotional speech about his recovery. While a beat down like this would in most cases be a simple way to develop a feud, with Bryan's extended absence it took on an extra significance - if Bryan can take a Powerbomb into the mat like that, he's ready to take all sorts of bumps in the ring. He made a brief return before WrestleMania 31, where he won the Intercontinental Championship to become a grand slam champion, but was also forced to relinquish that title shortly after. Understandably, Tuesday's show centered around the SmackDown Live general manager and his dealings with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, two men who are in some hot water after what they pulled on commissioner Shane McMahon last week.

Buddy Peacock and Lloyd Bonaire were among the suggestions, but they eventually settled on Daniel Bryan - which sounds oddly normal when you've got people named the Undertaker, Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
