"The aircraft was still at the gate in Miami, and the instigating passenger was asked by our Miami team members to deplane and he refused".

Unable to gain control of Garcia, one of the police officers tells him unsuccessfully, "Do not fight". Once law enforcement was on the aircraft, the passenger then became combative with the officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department. Officers directed gate agents to get all passengers off the plane. Video also caught Garcia refusing to sit down in an airport go-cart.

An arrest report obtained by the Miami New Times said flight attendants initially tried to move Garcia to another seat but he "began to scream and insult [the woman]... and her boyfriend". Twitter poster Jabari Ennis (@PoleVaultDream) tweeted that Garcia "was harassing passengers and saying racial slurs to several people on board, including employees". At first, the taser did not affect Garcia and he attempted to take the taser away, but it eventually worked and the officers were able to take Garcia into custody.

Police said, as officers were trying to remove Garcia from the plane after handcuffing him, he wedged his legs and body in his seat, and locked his feet around the legs of seats on the plane.

In the clip, Garcia can be seen grappling with the burly officers.

In the video, he taunts one of the officers, calling him "a little baby".

American Airlines has issued a statement revealing that the man was subsequently arrested.

[The flight crew] began the process of deplaning the entire aircraft.

Garcia was forcibly removed from an American Airlines plane Sunday night after allegedly assaulting another passenger.

In the video, the man can be heard asking three police officers, "What is the reason you're removing me from this plane?"

The airline said it was cooperating with the police investigation.

American Airlines said the flight departed about 90 minutes behind schedule.

Garcia, 28, was booked into Miami-Dade's jail shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday on charges that include battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, records show.
