The Humbolt Broncos suffered the fatal crash when their bus collided with a semi-truck in rural Saskatchewan, on their way to the team's semi-final playoff game against the Nipawin Hawks.

Almost two weeks after Ryan Straschnitzki and the rest of his Humboldt Broncos hockey team were involved in a devastating, deadly crash on a rural Saskatchewan highway, the Airdrie native will be continuing his recovery at home in Alberta.

"Until the analysis is complete we will not know what data was recorded by each vehicle prior to the collision", he said, adding the data will be "used to supplement a scene investigation and assist" investigators on the ground. More interviews are scheduled.

Collision experts have said it could be months before investigators determine what caused the crash. The intersection of Highways 35 and 335 will be closed to traffic, and all roads leading to the intersection will be barricaded, with detours in place.

Sixteen people died as result of the crash and another 13 were injured.

Investigators will be positioning vehicles similar to those involved in the collision, allowing our re-constructionists to take further measurements and analyze sight lines.

The truck belonged to Calgary-based Adesh Deol Trucking Ltd.

"He's feeling good now and going to the doctor", said Mr. Singh, who added the driver is still in counselling.

Zablocki said investigators have been in regular contact with the truck driver and Sukmahnder Singh, owner of Adesh Deol, said the driver has been seeing a doctor everyday since the incident.

Zablocki said the driver's logs have been seized by police, though it's unclear whether the logs are on paper or digital.

Zablocki said a complete review of these documents will be conducted looking at hours of work, rest time, brake checks and compliance with safety standards.

As of the latest update provided by the team Tuesday, nine people remain hospitalized, with two in critical condition.

He said it would "support Humboldt Broncos players, employees, families and volunteers, as well as first responders and emergency services personnel, teams, athletes, related organizations and communities affected by the crash".

"(We) wish to reiterate (our) gratitude to Humboldt resident Sylvie Kellington for her quick thinking in creating ... a way to help our club and its families".
