By the end of the week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had named their new little Prince- Louis Arthur Charles.

Chief executive David Haigh told the BBC: "The birth of the new prince is a tremendous marketing opportunity for British producers and retailers of baby products who can reference the royal baby in their promotional campaigns".

Taking into account his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte it will bring Kate and William's total parenting cost to £2.1 million ($3million).

Revealing the baby prince's moniker after weeks of speculation, Kensington Palace confirmed: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles".

He is the third child from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is the fifth in line to the throne.

The youngster takes one of his names from his grandfather, Prince Charles. Mountbatten was assassinated by members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRI) during a trip to Ireland in 1979.

Britain has never had a King Louis, but France had 16 of them before the country's 1789 revolution. "Parents view royal names as prestigious, thoughtful, and timeless, which are desirable traits for any child to carry through life". Among the British bookies' favorite picks were Arthur, James, Albert and Phillip.

The pool of names considered suitable for a prince is not large and yet, the wait between birth and public naming suggests there was some indecision about what to call the new baby.

Twitter users with personal connections to the fresh prince's names offered peals of joy. When his name was announced days later, there were some confusion on how his name is pronounced.
