Nokia X6 goes official with notched display, dual-camera

Most awaited Nokia X6 is all set to launch in China by HMD Global. The smartphone also becomes the first from the company to feature the iPhone X-like notch on its display screen. X-series is supposed to be better than the normal, mainstream device lineup and similar to that the X6 packs a better processor, improved design and dual camera setup on the back when compared to the regular Nokia 6 lineup.

The Nokia X6 can be purchased on May 21 in China beginning at CNY1,299 ($204) for the most unobtrusive 4GB/32GB variation.

The Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass.

What makes the Nokia X6 unique in the series is an all-glass body, which is made of one of the planet's toughest glass materials, Corning's Gorilla Glass 3. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

The Nokia X6 features a dual camera configuration comprising 16MP primary and 5MP monochrome sensor with EIS along with HDR and Bokeh mode. On the front, the device comes with a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. As for Nokia, both Google and HMD Global have confirmed the coming of Android P to Nokia 7 Plus, which now runs on Android Oreo.

The smartphone is available in Blue, Black and Silver colour options and is priced approximately Rs. 13,830 for the 4/32GB variant; approximately Rs. 15,980 for the 4/64GB model and approximately Rs. 18,090 for the 6/64GB model. It has been priced at CNY 1299 for the 4GB + 32GB variant, CNY 1499 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and the 6GB + 64GB variant has been priced at CNY 1699. Currently, there is no word on global availability of the smartphone. It measures 147.20 x 70.98 x 8.59 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 151.00 grams.

In terms of connectivity, the phone features a dual SIM setup with 4G VoLTE radios, an FM Radio, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Yesterday, its specifications and price were leaked in an image that appeared on Baidu where the Chinese retailer Suning.com offered the phone for CNY 1,499 - approximately Rs 16,000.
