  • Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey teaser hints at an adventure in Greece

As spotted by French site JeuxVideoLive, an ancient Greek helmet keychain is marked with 'Assassin's Creed: Odyssey' branding, suggesting the name of an upcoming release in Ubisoft Montreal's long-running action-adventure series.

The clip shows what seems to be a Spartan-looking character kicking another solider off a cliff; an homage to Frank Miller's 300.

Pre-E3 announcements and leaks are everywhere at the moment and the latest leak may have just revealed the next game in the Assassin's Creed series, Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Other rumors, Kotaku reports, claim that Assassin's Creed: Odyssey will not take a full year off, like the break between Syndicate and Origins.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is also expected to launch before the end of the current Ubisoft fiscal year, which wraps up n March 2019.

I've reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

Earlier today, we broke a story about the next step for the iconic Assassin's Creed franchise equipped with a location and even photos of merchandise. If true, the RPG elements of the new game will go through the roof making it the most immersive title to date. That's why Ubisoft took a year off to work on Origins, and it paid off, with the Egyptian-themed game meeting with some of the strongest reviews in the franchise. According to them, the game is shooting for a holiday 2018 release, and will see the return of Bayek and Aya from Origins, but feature two new protagonists. Meet Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
