Duplantis is hoping to take the word of Jesus to new heights - with help from a $54 million private jet, CBS News' Tony Dokoupil reports. "I really believe that preachers oughta go on. every available outlet to get this gospel preached to the world".

"He stated 'I need you to consider me for a Falcon 7X'".

He told his followers if Jesus sets his foot on Earth today, he wouldn't be riding on a donkey, but instead, "He'd be in an airplane preaching the gospel flying all over the world". "Think about it for a minute". According to prosperity gospel preachers and believers, nice things like jets and cars and rent money are God's way of blessing people for a faithful life.

Duplantis' video comes after another televangelist, Kenneth Copeland from Texas, purchased a Gulfstream V jet for $36 million.

Duplantis explained that he wouldn't personally own the plane.

It appears that more celebrity pastors are turning to the use of private jets as their go-to form of traveling.

"I want you to believe in me for a Falcon 7X", Duplantis said, according to the Times-Picayune.

The televangelist Jesse Duplantis stood before photographs of the three private jets that his followers had paid for with donations to his ministry.

"It was one of the greatest statements the Lord ever told me", Mr Duplantis said in his broadcast This Week With Jesse.

"He stated 'earlier than you ask, I'll reply: Isaiah 65:24'".

The 68-year-old preacher said he had "burned up" his other three planes for Jesus Christ and now needs a fourth.

Dassault, who makes the three-engine Falcon 7X, describe it as "the benchmark for the 21st century business jet". Duplantis says he preached his first sermon in 1976, launched his ministry full-time in 1978, and released his first religious music album in 1979. If I can do it for one stop, I can fly it for a lot cheaper because I have my own fuel farm.

Duplantis is the founder of the eponymous Jesse Duplantis Ministries, which has its global headquarters in America, as well as branches in the United Kingdom and Australia.

"You can't manage that today".
