  • Warriors and record-breaking Curry destroy Cavaliers in Game 2

After the controversial Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors play host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday for Game 2 at the Oracle Arena.

James came into the game trying to become the first player in NBA Finals history to score 50 points in consecutive games.

Curry's tally is now up to 370 3-pointers, surpassing James' 369.

Stephen Curry has tied the NBA Finals record with eight 3-pointers and the Warriors have blown open Game 2.

Despite a career playoff-high 51 points from LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers couldn't steal Game 1 Thursday against Golden State, losing 124-114 in overtime.

Curry and Allen are the only players in National Basketball Association history that have made at least seven 3-pointers in a game multiple times. James produced 15 first-half points on 5-of-11 shooting with 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Those players - Kyle Korver, Jeff Green, and Larry Nance - collectively shot 2-of-11 with 10 rebounds and three assists. Thompson sustained the injury when Jr Smith tried intercepting his pass and ran into his leg. Klay briefly exited the game to receive treatment only to return several moments later. The no-call generated fierce protest from James and the entire Cleveland bench, and coach Tyronn Lue, who received only a single technical foul during the regular season, was assessed one. It will be the fourth straight finals that Santana, a 10-time Grammy victor and three-time Latin Grammy victor, has played the anthem before the second game on the Warriors' home floor. Steph Curry paced Golden State with 29 points, nine assists and six rebounds.

The NBA Finals can be tense, but Steve Kerr is doing what he can to keep it loose. But when watching the game in those final seconds, he appears to mouth to James, "I thought we were ahead". James is working twice as hard, playing 48 minutes in each of the previous two games. With that being said, we still fought and clawed back at the end of the quarter, being down four, which was good for us.

Guthrie is making his finals debut as a referee Sunday night for Game 2 of the Cleveland-Golden State series. But heading into Game 2, Thompson says the pain has increased.
