"I'm here to stay", George said. "We can bring it home".

Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George has committed to re-signing with the team, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported late Saturday night.

Nothing is official as the teams and players can not formally sign contracts until Friday, July 6.

George had spoken out about the free agency process and said his decision would be based on multiple factors. But players can not sign contracts and teams may not comment until 12 p.m. on Friday.

According to a KOCO 5 News report in Oklahoma City, the National Basketball Association star chose to stay with the Thunder for another season.

In their first year, the new team did not have as much success as everybody had hoped, but it often takes more than a year for teammates to find their footing and play together well.

But he's excited about continuing to be a part of a standout tandem with Russell Westbrook. After all, president of basketball operations Magic Johnson figures to be a persuasive presence in free agent meetings.

Veteran swingman Paul George was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, and he's a legend in the eyes of the fans that show up to support the Lakers at Staples Center.

In his year with Oklahoma City, George averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Bradley played just six games for the Clippers last season after he was acquired from Detroit in the Blake Griffin trade. The deal included a player option in the fourth year. Oklahoma City outscored opponents by 14.2 points per 100 possessions last season with its starters on the court, the second-best net rating among the 10 lineups that logged at least 500 minutes in 2017-18 according to NBA Advanced Stats.

LeBron James is another A-list free agent the Sixers are targeting.

At the moment, there are three major moving parts in National Basketball Association free agency - LeBron's decision, George's decision and what the Spurs decide to do with Kawhi Leonard, who wants a trade to the Lakers.
