Do you think the Croatian improves Chelsea's starting XI?

After a turbulent debut season in the English Premier League with Chelsea, Tiemoue Bakayoko has been handed a life line by AC Milan who are close to signing him on a season long loan.

With another midfielder in Mateo Kovacic joining Chelsea from Real Madrid, Bakayoko was expected to leave considering the numerous other midfield options at Chelsea, who would be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Though Chelsea can not sign any new players after Thursday, there is another week before the window closes for Serie A clubs, so Bakayoko's future does not have to be agreed this week.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea in July 2017 after an impressive season with AS Monaco, helping the club get to the UEFA Champions League semi-final where they were knocked out by Juventus. Now though Sky is reporting that talks are well advanced for Bakayoko, with a loan with option to buy being discussed.

Sarri told reporters on Friday that he was looking to operate a squad of around 22 players with only a few youngsters.

He featured in all four of their pre-season friendlies but was absent from the squad for their Community Shield defeat to Manchester City a week ago.

Willian added: "I have my head here and I intend to continue in the club unless the club wants to sell me".

Kovacic could be part of a deal which will see Thibaut Courtois moving to Real after going AWOL and missing two consecutive training sessions. We can not change important players now, so I think it's impossible.
