Efforts by the Trump administration to choke off Iran's oil exports are being thwarted by China, which has refused to stop buying crude in the face of reimposed United States sanctions, according to a Bloomberg report published Friday.

In Washington, the US State Department said on its Persian-language Twitter account: "While it is ultimately up to the #people_of_Iran to determine their country's path, #America supports the voice of the Iranian people, which has been ignored for a long time".

Also last month, China, which is Iran's biggest customer, said it did not accept unilateral sanctions against Iran.

Changes to its business conditions taking effect August 25, and released in late July, allow the Bundesbank to block cash transfers in the absence of assurances from those involved in a transaction that it doesn't violate financial sanctions or rules to prevent money-laundering and the funding of terrorism.

Iran will not sit down for negotiations under pressures, in particular with U.S. President Donald Trump who "has breached obligations", Iran's Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi said Saturday.

In May, the United States pulled out of a 2015 deal between world powers and Tehran under which global sanctions on Iran were lifted in return for curbs on its nuclear programme.

Iran said its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps held a naval exercise in the Strait of Hormuz last week "within the framework of their annual training program".

Iran's state-run ISNA news agency reported that the five Franco-Italian ATR72-600 airplanes, which are twin-engine turboprops, had arrived at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport.

India's crude oil imports from Iran increased by about 30 percent to a record 768,000 barrels per day (bpd) in July, Reuters reported citing tanker arrival data. However, only 13 planes have been delivered since sanctions on Iran were lifted under the nuclear pact.

The spokesperson then pointed to the worldwide anger at the U.S. and Washington's policies towards its age-old allies, saying, "There is indication even in the Persian Gulf littoral states that there are concerns about Trump's policies, because they have the feeling that Trump is only seeking to empty their pockets".

"We are already seeing auto prices going through the roof over fears about raw material imports", she told AFP.

"There is a massive loss of confidence in the financial system and the government's ability to control things and withstand sanctions", she said.
