If Maroon 5 can shake up the layout of an iconic venue certainly they can deliver when it comes to taking on the iconic Super Bowl.

A source close to the situation says Maroon 5 is scheduled to perform Super Bowl LIII halftime on Feb 3rd in Atlanta, Georgia.

Seriously, we're less than a month into the 2018-19 NFL season, so it's practically impossible to know which two football teams will go head-to-head on the field of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for Super Bowl 53. Mars has co-headlined the show twice in recent years, as has Beyoncé, while Justin Timberlake has appeared three times, most notoriously in 2004 when he had a literal hand in Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction".

Adam Levine is going to the Super Bowl!

If they can't get Cardi, they can call up any of the people they recently collaborated with.

So, who could Maroon 5 bring out? You can make that case, but think about this: Would they have the same worldwide appeal that this band does?

The Super Bowl halftime gig has always been a coveted one for Levine, 39, who told Howard Stern in 2015 that they, 'very actively want to play the Super Bowl'. They have some big shoes to fill.

One of the great challenges in choosing a halftime performer isn't just its mainstream appeal, but in finding an artist who hasn't already performed.

The group is now touring in support of their 2017 album Red Pill Blues, with their final show of 2018 taking place in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve.
