After getting a string of leaks, Samsung has finally announced its Galaxy A7 (2018), becoming the company's first-ever smartphone to feature a triple-camera sensor at the back.

What's interesting about the handset is that its main feature is a triple-lens camera on the back that's not available on any Samsung device right now.

Coming to the camera, it consists of a 24MP primary sensor behind an f/1.7 lens, an ultra-wide 8MP f/2.4 module with 120° viewing angle and a 5MP depth sensor. The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 has been announced by the Korean tech giant today, with other points of interest being a Super AMOLED Infinity Display, a 24MP selfie camera, Dolby Atmos sound and side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy A7's Super AMOLED display is Full HD+ and measures 6 inches, it got a 3,300mAh battery, up to 6GB of RAM, octa-core 2.2GHx chipset, and 128Gb expandable storage. However, the fact is that this all-new Galaxy A7 (2018) comes with an unusual location in Samsung devices for the fingerprint reader until this year. As for the price, we seem to believe that the device will come around somewhere for $400.

Samsung also dominated the premium smartphone segment in India in the first half of 2018, capturing nearly half the market share. What does distinguish it, however, is the trio of camera lenses on the rear.

Samsung says it will "celebrate the launch" of a "new member to the galaxy family" on October 11.

It would be interesting to see if the upcoming Galaxy A9 will be received by the audience as expected by Samsung. Samsung has already said it will bring new features to mid-range phones first, before they appear on flagships. The top "depth" camera features a 5-megapixel sensor, the middle camera features a 24-megapixel shooter with autofocus and the bottom with an 8 megapixels sensor which comes with an ultra-wide shooting.

Exact pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.

Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE Cat.6, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), NFC is some regions, GPS/GLONASS, and a micro USB port.

The Galaxy A7 will run Android 8.0 out of the box and support Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health.
