Students Put Up Fake 'Asians Ad' On Wall In McDonald's

06 September, 2018, 23:36 | Author: Salvatore Jensen

While there, they noticed that posters in their local restaurant contained no pictures of Asian people. Look around. There are literally no Asians on any of these walls. "Remember, folks, all races deserve recognition", Maravilla says in the video.

They found a "natural environment" that looked similar to the locations used for the existing photos, and took a picture similar to the ones they had seen inside the restaurant. Chronicled in a YouTube video, the pair put one up a poster of themselves holding a burger and fries and put it on the restaurant's wall. That was the easy part.

Jehv Maravilla, 21, and his friend Christian Toledo 25, noticed a lack of representation in the marketing materials at a McDonalds in Pearland, near Houston.

Jevh Maravilla, a Filipino-American student at the University of Houston, frequented the McDonald's branch.

A $7 McDonald's thrift shirt was purchased, a fictional McDonald's staff badge created and, after the huge parcel containing the photo arrived, they were ready to go.

"Sounds legit", he said in the video.

With the help of a couple of friends, the mission was complete and now nearly two months later, the poster is STILL UP.

Watch the full breakdown of how he pulled the whole thing off below. "Up, up, up, up, up".

The friends were able to get out of the restaurant without anyone realizing what they had done.

More than seven weeks later, it's still up there.

"I really hope they never take it down."

Maravilla's prank prompted at least one other person to go public with a story of similar hijinks. Jevh decided that a photo of him and Christian posing as students would work best.

Me and some friends did that at our local Walmart!

"We put adhesive on the back so it could be taken down".
