When the script for “Eye in the Sky” landed on Aaron Paul’s desk, he said what he read was so gripping, he had to accept the role.

“They put you on the front line of terrorism,” Paul said on March 25 during a Q&A session at Cinemas Palme D’Or in Palm Desert, Calif. “I had to say yes.”

“Eye in the Sky” is a thriller about complications arising when a drone missile strike is ordered to take out a group of terrorists in Africa.

The movie co-stars Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman in his final role.

Paul spoke about a variety of topics, with many fans wanting to know about his most famous role as Jesse Pinkman in the AMC series “Breaking Bad.” Former co-star Bryan Cranston is a part-owner of Cinemas Palme D’Or.

One of the more unusual topics was about Paul’s birth, which his mother did alone in the bathroom floor.

Paul’s definitive role was as Pinkman in “Breaking Bad,” where he won three Emmy Awards.

Prior to reading for the role, Paul had starred in an episode of “X Files” and “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan remembered his character in the episode, “Lord of the Flies.”

Paul’s character was Sky Commander Winky, which had a sentimental meaning to Gilligan.
