While Timothy Bradley suffered severe backlash from boxing fans with his victory over Manny Pacquiao in 2012, he did gain a very notable admirer.

Former President Clinton said he was a friend and fan of Pacquiao. But after watching their first fight and the HBO series 24/7, he also became a fan of Timothy Bradley.

Clinton said what most impressed him was Bradley’s dedication to his family.

In 2013, Clinton had taken over the professional golf event in nearby La Quinta, and was doing publicity for the event and was visiting an event his daughter Chelsea was hosting. At a school walk-a-thon, Clinton learned Bradley was there, so he made an impromptu move to go meet the WBO welterweight champion.

Clinton had become a vegan and at the time, Bradley went on vegan diets to prepare for fights, and they compared notes.

Asked if the experience would affect how he votes in the Presidential election, Bradley laughed and said he doesn’t like to talk about politics or religion. Clinton’s wife is the leading democratic candidate for President.
